Washington, D.C. [July 23, 2008]One longtime observer has called it the “de facto voice of the transportation community” on issues relating to private financing of public transportation infrastructure projects.  It’s a reputation that’s been hard-earned—19 years in the making—by one of the biggest players in the public private partnership (P3) field.

This September 15-16, hundreds of industry executives will gather in Washington, D.C., for the American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s (ARTBA) milestone “20th Annual Public-Private Ventures in Transportation Conference.  If you or your organization is involved or interested in the Public-Private Partnerships, or “P3,” market, this is an event you won’t want to miss!

The political landscape is changing:  How will a new Administration and new Congress address transportation financing?  What role will P3s play in next year’s important rewrite of the federal surface transportation law?  More importantly, what’s happening out in the state legislatures, where the “rubber meets the road” on transportation financing choices?  These questions and more will be covered during the two-day event.

Key sessions include:

  • Drafting policy to protect the public interest
  • Articulating P3 value to the public
  • The value of risk transfer
  • Pension funds as investors
  • Emerging P3 markets, including the potential from a federal “Critical Commerce Corridors” (3C) initiative
  • Case studies from across the U.S.
  • Mode-specific PPV issues for roads, highways, airports and public transportation

The PPV conference is a “can’t miss” for:

  • State and local legislators, and government officials
  • Investment bankers, equity firm and pension fund executives
  • Transportation and finance lawyers
  • Transportation design and construction executives
  • Transportation construction industry market analysts and policy experts
  • Developers and educators
